Lauren H. Logan, PhD
Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering
Our research is on environmental impacts related to the energy-water nexus, life-cycle assessment (LCA), and sustainability within engineering education. Our research is interdisciplinary, spanning civil & environmental engineering, biological sciences, political science, and economics.
Research
Group
The Logan Research Group: Water Energy and LCA is currently working on sustainability and life-cycle assessment within engineering education. Our work includes understanding the current landscape of sustainability in engineering education, and creating adaptable materials for use across a wide range of courses and institutions. We recently presented our LCA module, including pre- and post-module survey results, at the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) Congress in May. Earlier iterations of the LCA project were presented at the First-Year Engineering Experience (FYEE) Conference in Knoxville, TN.

Past work involved quantifying water use for hydraulic fracturing in Southeast Ohio, with implications for ecosystem sustainability.
